Examination Schedule

 

Valid ID is required to take an exam. A Photo ID is preferred.

Testing is offered on easy to use touch screen computers.

Note:  State offices will be closed on the following days in 2008:  January 1, January 21, February 12, February 18, May 26, July 4, September 1, October 13, November 11, November 27, November 28, December 25.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. See below for specific testing check-in times at each test site.

** NOTE: PER THE PERSONNEL RULES AN APPLICANT SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RETAKE A MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND/OR PERFORMANCE EXAMINATION UNTIL 30 DAYS HAS ELAPSED.

ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES, INCLUDING CELL PHONES, MUST BE TURNED OFF PRIOR TO ENTERING THE TEST ROOM. VIOLATORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION AND/OR REMOVAL FROM THE TEST ROOM.

Examinations may be canceled or limited to certain localities without notice as hiring needs are met.

Applications for the Youth Supervisor Trainee and Correctional Officer Trainee titles must be submitted to the Department of Corrections, Central Screening Office, 1301 Concordia Court, Springfield, IL 62794-9277, (217) 522-2666 ext 6684. Applications for the Mental Health Technician Trainee title must be submitted to the Department of Human Services, Bureau of Recruitment and Selection, 511 W Capitol Avenue, Suite 303, Springfield, IL 62704-1989, (217) 524-1548. Career Services

The employment counselor will suggest and describe job titles after a review of your application and discussion of your education and work experiences. A comprehensive counseling session is available by appointment in all test locations. Proof of Military Service

Proof of military service, if claimed for additional points added to a passing grade, must be submitted at the time of examination. Applicants submitting proof of military service after the examination will be awarded veterans preference upon verification of the documentation.
